The focus of the program will be on preparing for the Fall 2021 racing season. Athletes must be meet the prerequisite erg and techniques standards to be allowed to join the program. Athletes will row on the water three days a week and do one extra land workout on their own. All athletes must provide proof that they have been vaccinated and completed the two week waiting period to be able to join the program.
Qualifications to be an athlete in my group:
1) 2,000m erg:
Women currently 50 and under: 2k at 8:30 (8 minutes and 30 seconds) or faster
Women currently over 50: 2k at 8:45 or faster
Women currently over 70: 2k at 9:15 or faster
Men currently 50 and under: 2k at 7:30 or faster
Men currently over 50: 2k at 7:45 or faster
Men currently over 70: 2k at 8:15 or faster
2) Technique score of a 4 or higher on a 1-6 scale:
To achieve a 4, you must row with suspension, be coachable and open to feedback, have good timing with other rowers, understand how to get catch in the water and apply pressure, and grasp the concept of ratio and boat speed.
Most rowers will have rowed for 4+ years, with coaching, to achieve a 4 or above.

We are always short of coxswains. You will either be required to take turns in the coxswain seat or record video of your teammates.
There will be an additional erg work-out each week.
Line-ups will be made in the morning with coxswains notified earlier.
DO NOT come to practice if you feel sick.
