Adult Learn-To-Row Program Details

  

 

Participants

Adults age 18 and older with no prior rowing experience. 


Program Description
Learn the fundamentals of sweep rowing (each rower has one oar). The program begins with an introduction to the boathouse and equipment, rowing terminology, safety procedures, and rowing technique on 'Concept 2' indoor rowing machines.  After that, you're on the water!  Occasionally, weather conditions might require that class be taught in a rowing barge. Each 8-person shell will have 5-6 new rowers along with 2-3 experienced rowers.  

We do ask that each participant commit to attending all sessions as the information learned here is critical for successful transition to the novice program.

Each participant must provide proof of vaccination for Covid-19 or a negative PCR test within three days of the first class. 

Participants must be able to swim (a swim waiver is required), and lift 30 lbs overhead.  Please bring a signed Swim Waiver and 2021 US Rowing Waiver to the first meeting if you have not already participated in an event with us this year.

Fee:
$130 per session - Session will prepare you to join the Novice Program once completed.
