MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM - 2019
Middle School Aged athletes that have completed a week of the Summer Junior Learn to Row Camps, or have previously participated in the Middle School Program are invited to join the Summer Middle School Program. The objective of the Summer Middle School Program is to continue to develop our Middle School aged athletes in preparation for the Novice Program in their first year of high school. The program is designed to begin the transition of athletes from the fun of Learn-to-Row or introductory programs into the more competitive high school programs offered at LGRC.
The goal of our middle school offering is to slowly transition young students into student athletes. The requires them to make technical progress on the water, but it also requires them to learn how to manage the time demands of student athletics. The program is led by the High School coaching staff. This program also allows young athletes to experience different roles in rowing. By allowing each interested student to row and cox their boat, they gain an early appreciation of the teamwork involved in the sport.
