Summer Junior Learn to Row Camps
LGRC offers exceptional summer rowing programs to athletes between the ages of 11 and 18 and entering 6th– 12th grade. No experience is needed. Rowing combines teamwork, fitness and fun and Los Gatos has an award-winning team rowing on beautiful Lexington Reservoir.
Skills learned include:
- Basic rowing technique in an 8 oared shell (boat).
- An understanding of how to transport, launch and dock an eight-oared shell
- Team building
- Cardiovascular and strength training
On the final day of each session, parents are invited to come and cheer as teams of summer athletes compete in an inter-camp regatta to be followed by lunch and an informational talk by the coaching staff.
Learn to Row is a great way to “test the waters” of crew! Athletes interested in joining LGRC's competitive crew teams are encouraged to sign up for one week of Learn to Row, and then transfer into either the Novice Development Camp, or the Summer Middle School Camp. Information about LGRC's competitive junior crew program that runs from September to May will be distributed during the celebration that ends the session.
Sessions run from 8:30AM - 11:00AM, Monday through Thursday and 8:30AM - 12:00PM on Friday. The cost is $300.
We understand that sometimes parents might find the 8:30am start time difficult, so we are offering drop-off time beginning at 8am.
