Feel the Power

Over the past 12 years LGRC has provided Feel the Power learn-to-row programs for several agencies in the Santa Clara Valley.

The program’s basic structure is a half-day rowing program with instruction on the rowing machine and on the water in an eight-person shells. We develop each program to accommodate the specific needs of each group.

The benefits:

-Learn teamwork, trust and patience
-Achieve learning about a new sport
-Enjoy a new experience in a brand new environment

Some of our past participants had this to say about their experience:

“I never imagined, even in my wildest dreams, that kids like us would be in these long skinny boats, in the middle of nature, actually rowing. It’s pretty crazy.  It’s peaceful too though and in a way it’s nice sometimes to be away from the city.”          Anotino, 11th grade

“One positive experience I had on crew was that we all worked together as a team. When we messed up we would not give up but keep on trying. Another thing is that I also got to meet new people and experience something new and exciting.”        Ismael, 9th grade

Our US Rowing-certified coaches run all our programs.  Safety is our primary concern, and Los Gatos Rowing Club carries insurance for all our programs.  We do require, however, that each agency add us to their own insurance policy as an "Additional Insured" entity.
