How to Join Los Gatos Rowing Club as a Junior Member (Grades 8-12)

Fall Program Sign-Up

It is recommended that ALL ROWERS (Varsity AND Novice) read all the way through these instructions carefully before starting.  Also, please use upper and lower case as appropriate when inputting information.  Do not use all caps or all lower case.  Please take care to fill in all fields accurately and completely.

If you rowed with LGRC in the 2010 spring season, skip Parts A and B and go directly to Part C.

If you rowed with LGRC in the 2009 fall season but did not row in the 2010 spring season, you must complete Parts A, B and C.

New members must complete Parts A, B and C.

Part A – Become a Junior Member

Select “Join the Club” at the bottom of this page or click here:

1.    For Membership Type, select “Junior”, then click “Next”.

2.    Complete all of the membership information.

3.    Choose your username and your password.

4.    The payment amount for Juniors Annual Membership Fee is $0.  Juniors will pay when they join the Spring or Fall Program as an "Event" in Step C.  Continue to the next screen.

5.    Click “Submit Application”.

6.    You can use your password to log into your profile at any time to change information.

The email address you enter for your parent will be used for important communication within the Club.  If you would like more than one parent to get Club communications, add them to your profile.

Part B – Sign & Turn In Forms

Download and print the file Juniors' Required Waivers & Permissions. This includes the US Rowing Waiver, Club Permissions & Swim Waiver, and the Drug & Alcohol Policy Agreement.  These forms need to be completed each calendar year you row.  If you completed them in the spring season 2010, you do not need to turn in the forms until January 2011.

BOTH the rower and a parent must sign each of these forms.  Return all three signed forms to the Junior Membership Coordinator in one of two ways:

   Deposit them in the black mail box located inside the boathouse (just inside the entry door, on the left wall);

Mail them to:  Junior Membership Coordinator, P.O. Box 188, Los Gatos, CA  95031-0188.

Do not give them to the coaches.

Until you have completed the “Member Sign-Up” process (Part A) AND the Required Waivers & Permissions are signed and received by the Junior Membership Coordinator (Part B), you will be a "pending member".

After Parts A and B are completed, you will receive a confirmation email that your membership status has gone from "pending member" to "active member".

Once you are an active member, you MUST register for the Fall Program (Part C - Enroll & Pay for Fall Season).

Part C - Enroll & Pay for Fall Season

Log in with your username and password.  If you have forgotten your username or password, click "Forgot My Username/Password" on the Home Page.   A new password will be sent to the email you used when you registered.

1.   Once you are logged in, please review your profile and edit any changes including   those to email and  home addresses, telephone numbers, insurance and medical information, and emergency contacts.    Rowers from the previous spring or fall season - be sure you edit any information that has changed.

2.   Next, select "Event Calendar" from the main menu on the Home Page.

3.   Find and click on the date in the Event Calendar for your program:

  • September 7 for the Varsity Program
  • September 8 for the Novice Program

4.   Choose how you want to make your payment.  If you are paying by credit card, you have the option to pay the fee in full right away, or make 2 payments - one now and one on October 15.  If you want to use the 2-payment option, click on the picture of the pencil next to the charge amount of the credit card payment screen and edit the amount to half.

5.  Click "Register Now".

6.  Complete the questions to enroll. Review ALL the information you input for accuracy.

Once completed, you will receive an auto-generated email confirming that you have registered for the Event "Novice or Varsity Rowing for Fall 2010".  You will also receive an email confirming that your payment has been received.  If you pay by credit card, the email will be sent right away; if you pay by check, the email will be sent once the check has been received.

Rowers will only be allowed to attend practice for one week only as an active member without being registered to the Fall Program.
